Freeze Away Fat for a Slimmer You
How CoolSculpting® can help you look your best
You have probably seen a lot of advertising for CoolSculpting, the revolutionary procedure to contour your body by selectively removing unwanted fat without surgery, needles or downtime. I wanted to share with you some information that should be helpful for considering this innovative procedure for yourself.
The technology behind CoolSculpting was based on the simple observation, that children who ate a lot of popsicles developed dimples, due to a loss of fat in their cheeks from excessive exposure to cold. The idea that cold can selectively remove fat led to the innovative CoolSculpting process developed at the Wellman Center for Photomedicine at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, a teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School.
CoolSculpting targets that stubborn fat in the abdomen, waistline, back, and love handles, thighs, knees, arms or under your chin that just doesn’t go away even with dieting and exercise. The procedure works by delivering controlled cooling to gently and effectively target fat cells underneath the skin while leaving the skin itself unaffected. The treated fat cells are crystallized (frozen), then die and are cleared away naturally.
Over time, your immune system gradually eliminates these dead fat cells, and they are gone for good. Remaining fat cells condense, reducing the fat layer in the targeted area, for a more sculpted appearance just weeks after treatment, and lasting for the long term. Look at the photos on this page that a recent patient at Eternity Medical Spa took of herself at home. The “after” photos were taken just three weeks after treatment.
The procedure is cleared by the FDA, is safe and effective. Most patients return to their normal activities immediately after treatment. And unlike invasive procedures such as liposuction, there is no pain, risk of infection or long recovery period.
While CoolSculpting is an established, safe and effective procedure, it is important to select a provider that has considerable experience in providing it, is medically supervised and fully insured, and where the CoolSculpting Certified Technician will spend time with you to understand your goals and tailor a customized treatment to help you achieve them. There is a difference in what various practices charge and be wary if they ask you to commit to multiple treatments before meeting with you to assess your actual needs.
